COSTA DE ANTIGUA

The holiday home is located in Costa Antigua.  Costa Antigua is situated on a rocky coastline which is excellent for fishing.  There are shops, bars and restaurants, Kavanagh's Irish Bar being very popular, friendly and reasonably priced.  Costa Antigua is perched on a hill with lovely views of the Atlantic Ocean and the vast mountains of Fuerteventura.  It is a 'get away from it all' destination, extremely relaxing and peaceful, away from the stresses of life.

Costa Antigua is only four miles from the airport - ten minutes by car or taxi.  The cost of a taxi is 8 euros (2008 prices).

The main holiday resort of Costa Caleta is only one mile south of Costa Antigua.  There is a beautiful coastal path if you fancy a stroll.  There are numerous chipmonks along the path which are very friendly and love to be hand fed.

You can also take a taxi for a small fee (the taxi rank outside the Costa Tropical Hotel, across the road from our complex).  There is also a regular bus service to Costa Caleta and the rest of the island.

COSTA CALETA

Costa Caleta is wrapped around a sweeping hourseshoe-shaped beach protected by breakwaters -  making it very safe beach for children.  For adults, there is an excellent choice of watersports for beginners and experts alike, including windsurfing and diving.  You can also hire pedaloes, canoes, etc.  There is a lovely harbour with fresh fish restaurants, a submarine, a friendly sealion, a fish feeding area and regular boat trips.

There are plenty of restaurants catering for a wide variety of tastes and budgets.  There is a wide range of bars and hotels available offering nightly entertainment, from Karaoke to Cabaret.

A little further south, about half a mile is the Altantico Center which boasts safe, sandy bathing lagoons, a large Eurospar, bowling alley and a multiplex cinema showing some English films.  Across the road is MacDonalds.

This is where you will also find two 18 hole golf courses and a driving range, log onto www.fuerteventuragolfclub.com for further information.

AROUND THE ISLAND

In both Costa Antigua and Costa Caleta you can book various excursions including a great aqua park www.bakufuerteventura.com, national park sand dunes, sightseeing trips, shopping trips including one to Lanzarote,  the Oasis Zoo, quad biking and many more.  In our opinion it is definately worth hiring a car as there is so much to see.  A great website is  www.fuerteventura.com for loads more information on this fantastic island.
